It IS a great tree and no, not Martian! I've met trees just like that one. I do admit it reminds me of my hibiscus in FLorda right after a killing frost! :-) No, really, I think it might be a fig tree...it looks middle eastern to me. I like the limited color palette of grays, gold and green.
